In early 2013, Community Music in Action funded a project at The Glebe (SEN) School, West Wickham to help set up a youth choir. ‘Cool Voices’ were born and since then they have continued to grow in confidence, sound and stature. Today, we were pleased to accompany the choir and their musical director, David Best to The PRU Hospital, Locks Bottom for some informal ‘busking’. Amazing Grace, Hallelujah and Titanium were amongst their repertoire and sounded great echoing through the hospital corridors. The children not only sang their hearts out and brought smiles to the faces of staff and visitors, but they also raised a whopping £92 for the hospitals charity ’Together We Can’.
“The children were a delight and I’ve had very positive
feedback from both staff and the general public”
Karen Welsh, Communications Manager, The PRUH
What great work ‘Cool Voices’ have done for Community Music in Action and their local community – well done and thanks guys!
